How do I render LaTeX in Google Docs?
Install LatexScribe from the Google Workspace Marketplace, open the sidebar in your document, and click render. It scans your document for LaTeX in multiple delimiter styles and turns every equation into a clean image in one pass, usually in milliseconds per image.
Can I edit an equation after it is rendered?
Yes. Each equation keeps its original LaTeX saved inside your document. Select a rendered equation and click De-render selected, or use De-render all for the whole document. The LaTeX comes back as editable text, and you can render again after editing. It survives document copies and sharing.
Do the editing links show up when I export or publish?
Rendered equations carry a small LatexScribe link used for editing. Before you export to PDF or Word, or publish, click Remove links to clear every link in one click. The equations stay rendered and your export is clean. Click Restore links when you want to edit again.
Will it ever delete or change my text?
No. LatexScribe only converts the LaTeX inside the delimiters you enabled and leaves your surrounding text exactly as it was. It never deletes your text.
Is my document stored anywhere?
No. Your document text is never stored. Rendered equation images pass through processing transiently and are not retained. See the privacy policy for details.
